Here we go with this 700 billion dollar bailout mess. If you don't know anything about it, get your head out of the sand and educate yourself. Here's a link so you can update yourself. What's a candidate to do? McCain tries to stand up and look like a leader, but the question is... will it backfire? At first when democrats, especially Reid, came out and pretty much said that they did not need McCain's help, it seemed as if his move was a misstep. How could he look like a leader if senators were asking him to stay away? It wasn't helping that Obama said that he was going to friday's debate regardless of what McCain's public statements may be. But wait... tonight Bush addressed the nation and called for McCain and Obama to return to Washington. Hmmm... now it seems that Obama is in a bind. Go to Washington and appear to follow the "urging" of McCain? Or stay on the Campaign trail and appear to neglect his duties and a Senator and ignore the request of the sitting President? And what of McCain? If Obama goes tomorrow, surely he can return to Mississippi for the debate on Friday. Does McCain go, and go back on his own pledge to stay in Washington until this bill is passed? Or does McCain stay in Washington and appear unable to mulit-task as Obama can? Oh the anticipation... whatever happens I'm sure both candidates will have a very good reason (excuse) for their actions, as well as questions (criticisms) of their opponents actions.
